Comet Impact Revision

September 24, 2010 Leave a comment

Hey everyone!  Work continues steadily!  Check out a short video showing the comet impact revision from the proof-of-concept trailer to the final film!

Yeah, working solo on this project sucks.  Any talented VFX artists out there?  🙂

Anyone like the title, “From the Sky”?  Maybe an alternate title than Probe?  Eh….

Back At It!

Damn the Kestrels!

Probe is back in production after a summer hiatus.  Look forward to updates, new graphics, and such coming from the production labs soon!  Don’t worry, we’ll be backing up lots of times so as to not loose massive amounts of work (see earlier).  In the meantime, I’ll be heading back along the visual effects shots and redoing the work that was lost.

In other news, I’m possibly looking for another title than “Probe” to help avoid the snickering remarks. 🙂

Till then!

Jolly good post-apocalyptic fun!

Exciting news:  We’ve got our actor for Jay.  Originally, Will and Jay were going to be younger college age guys; Will would be the darker guy more concerned about their continual survival while Jay would be the goofier, surprisingly lighthearted guy for a post apocalyptic Johnson City.  Several days ago, I received a call from one Larry Bunton, who changed it all up!  Instead of having two contemporaries, we now have an “unlikely alliance” between the harsh-edged Will and the older Jay who has seen it all, and holds no sorrow.  Larry is in his “young fifties” and he’s got a history of working in Theater as an actor.  He’ll meet the production crew this Tuesday.  In an email entitled “Damn the torpedoes!”, Larry said, “This sounds like jolly good post-apocalyptic fun!”  Check out his head shots, and welcome the new member of the production crew!

Music

All good films need music.  And instead of going through the fuss of trying to get copyrights for the film, we’ve got our very own artist creating a film score.  His name is Kris Carlson, and he’s going to create the haunting melodies that is a part of probe.  He’s working on his own album now, and as he is talented with every instrument he touches, it’ll be exciting to see the new dynamic he’ll bring to the production team.  That’s all for now!
